The Electrical / Instrument Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation works are carried out in compliance with project requirements, international codes and standards, and approved procedures. The role includes inspection, quality surveillance, and verification of electrical and instrumentation works across oil and gas facilities, with a focus on ensuring compliance and quality during procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Implement QA/QC activities, including inspection and surveillance of subcontractors’ works, in accordance with approved Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and contractual documents. Prepare, review, and sign off on records for quality surveillance, inspections, and tests. Ensure the availability of the latest and approved versions of applicable work documents such as AFC (Approved for Construction) drawings, specifications, and standards. Conduct inspections for electrical and instrumentation systems during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages. Verify compliance with project requirements, specifications, and relevant codes and standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/IECEX-60079, etc.). Provide daily feedback to the Quality Manager/Engineer on quality issues and inspection outcomes. Support in resolving quality-related non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Duties & Deliverables Perform inspections and verify compliance with project specifications and standards. Document inspection results and maintain records for quality assurance. Ensure timely reporting of inspection outcomes and deviations. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA/QC processes within the project. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification with Trade Certificates in Electrical and/or Instrumentation. Minimum of 8 years of working experience in oil and gas inspection, with at least 5 years in onshore Gas Facilities projects, preferably LNG. Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation codes and standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/IECEX-60079, etc.). Strong knowledge and experience in QA/QC activities, inspection processes, and international codes and standards. Skills and Competencies Strong technical knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems. Good understanding of QA/QC processes and documentation. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong communication and reporting skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
