~1 min readWe are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our Simulation Engineering organization. This leader will be responsible for guiding the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our Simulation Engineering team while helping unify simulation efforts across robotics, controls, perception, software, systems, and industrial controls organizations.
- Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, perception systems, controls systems, industrial automation, or other complex cyber-physical systems.
- Experience with simulation-driven development, HIL/SIL, system validation, or related methodologies.
- Experience building or extending simulation platforms, infrastructure, or engineering tooling.
- Experience helping engineering organizations adopt simulation to improve development velocity and product outcomes.
- Experience aligning simulation efforts across multiple engineering organizations and technology domains.
The Simulation Engineering team develops simulation platforms, tooling, infrastructure, validation environments, and system models used to accelerate the development of Symbotic's robotic systems and automation technologies.
Through simulation-driven engineering, the team enables engineers to design, develop, test, validate, and optimize complex robotic systems before physical deployment. These capabilities help accelerate product development, reduce technical risk, improve product quality, and increase confidence in engineering decisions.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Define and execute the strategy for simulation engineering, platform development, validation environments, and system modeling.
- →Lead the development of simulation platforms, infrastructure, tooling, and engineering workflows used across the organization.
- →Drive the architecture and technical direction of simulation systems supporting robotics, perception, controls, software, and automation technologies.
- →Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to accelerate development through simulation-driven testing, validation, experimentation, and analysis.
- →Lead, mentor, and develop a team of simulation and modeling engineers while establishing technical standards and engineering best practices.
- →Drive alignment across software, controls, robotics, perception, systems, and industrial controls organizations to establish a unified simulation ecosystem and strategy.
- →Influence engineering decisions through simulation-driven insights, technical recommendations, system-level analysis, performance prediction, and design evaluation.
- →Support future robotics and automation initiatives by improving simulation fidelity, scalability, performance, and adoption across engineering teams.
- →Develop simulation capabilities that improve product development velocity, validation effectiveness, system performance, and deployment readiness.
- →Partner with internal engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure simulation capabilities remain aligned with product development priorities and business objectives.
- →Communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations to engineering and executive leadership.
- →Drive alignment across teams to ensure simulation efforts are focused on the highest-impact engineering challenges.
- →Partner with internal and external stakeholders to communicate simulation-driven recommendations, technical tradeoffs, and engineering insights.
- →Support customer-facing and executive-level discussions by translating complex technical concepts and simulation results into actionable recommendations.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in simulation, modeling, robotics, controls, systems engineering, software engineering, autonomy, operations research, or related technical disciplines.
- Minium of 3 years of engineering management experience leading technical teams.
- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for simulation platforms, modeling capabilities, validation systems, software engineering or related technologies.
- Strong understanding of simulation architecture, engineering workflows, system validation, and complex technical problem solving.
- Experience developing or utilizing simulation to improve development, validation, testing, optimization or performance of complex systems.
- Experience driving cross-functional engineering initiatives across multiple organizations and technology domains.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and highly technical environments.
- Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $180,000.00 - $247,500.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.Location & Eligibility
