The Quality Assistant Superintendent is responsible for supporting the execution of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program in the field by assisting with inspections, documentation, deficiency tracking, and system readiness activities. This role works closely with QA/QC Superintendents, Construction Teams, MEP Teams, Commissioning Personnel, and Trade Partners to ensure installations comply with project specifications, client requirements, and company quality standards.
The Quality Assistant Superintendent serves as a developing field quality leader who helps drive quality compliance, commissioning readiness, and turnover preparedness. In mission-critical and hyperscale environments, this position focuses on supporting a zero-defect culture, maintaining accurate quality documentation, and ensuring systems are installed correctly and prepared for testing and turnover.

Support field execution of the QA/QC program for assigned project areas and disciplines.

Assist with inspections of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Controls, and Life Safety systems.

Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer requirements.

Assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking deficiencies, punch list items, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Support maintenance of quality tracking logs, inspection records, and deficiency reports.

Coordinate with Construction, MEP, and Commissioning teams to support quality objectives and system readiness requirements.

Assist with field audits, quality assessments, and verification activities.

Support commissioning readiness efforts by ensuring required inspections and documentation are completed.

Review and organize inspection reports, test records, and turnover documentation.

Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, and quality reviews.

Monitor status of quality-related issues and follow up on corrective actions.

Communicate quality concerns, risks, and observations to QA/QC leadership.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Maintain professional working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders.

Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education, technical training, military service, and industry experience may be considered.

2-5 years of experience in construction, QA/QC, commissioning, inspections, or related technical disciplines.

Experience with mission-critical, data center, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or commercial construction projects preferred.

Familiarity with inspections, quality documentation, deficiency management, and commissioning processes preferred.

OSHA 10, OSHA 30, CQM-C, or other industry certifications are a plus.

Basic understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and field inspection processes.

Knowledge of construction practices, installation standards, and project documentation requirements.

Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and life safety systems.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer documentation.

Strong organizational and document control skills.

Ability to identify quality concerns and escalate issues appropriately.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, CxAlloy, BIM platforms, and quality management software preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
