Job Description

Trusted Space is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and evolution of our internal modeling and simulation (M&S) environment. The ideal candidate is mission‑driven, comfortable working across distributed teams, and passionate about building innovative aerospace analysis capabilities. This role blends aerospace engineering expertise with hands‑on involvement in tool development, integration, testing, and validation within a fast‑moving entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities   
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary aerospace and software engineering teams to develop, integrate, and test modeling and simulation environments for space systems and missions.
  • Identify representative mission scenarios and ensure simulation outputs align with expected physics‑based behaviors and requirements.
  • Develop and execute component‑ and system‑level tests driven by technical specifications, mission needs, and physics‑based logic.
  • Support the enhancement and refinement of internal M&S tools through feedback, prototyping, and code‑level improvements.

Qualifications
  • United States citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Astronomy, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace modeling & simulation, mission dynamics, test engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with aerospace M&S tools such as Basilisk, GMAT, Orekit, STK, or spacecraft bus/payload simulators and emulators.
  • Ability to understand, modify, and develop software in Python, C++, or similar languages. 

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Deep understanding of spaceflight dynamics across Earth-centered, cislunar, and interplanetary domains.
  • Experience modeling or simulating sensors (EO, RF, etc.).
  • Experience with Cesium visualization.
  • Familiarity with orbit determination and space-based navigation concepts.
  • Comfortable with git version control and Agile DevOps tools (Azure, Gitlab, Jira). 
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $200,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary. Trusted Space, LLC considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to: scope, location, position responsibilities, education/training, key skills and business considerations.
