Assistant Manager Assessment Services - Assessment (Days)

The Assistant Manager of Assessment Services supports the Department Manager in the daily clinical and operational oversight of Assessment Services, including the Walk-In Mental Health Urgent Care and behavioral health assessment services provided to seven Emergency Departments.

 

This position provides clinical leadership, staff support, workflow oversight, and operational coordination to promote safe, timely, consistent, and patient-centered assessment and disposition services. The Assistant Manager serves as a primary resource for staff, providing clinical guidance, troubleshooting complex situations, supporting disposition decisions, and ensuring departmental standards and workflows are followed.

 

The Assistant Manager partners with the Department Manager, Assessment Services staff, Emergency Department teams, providers, and other organizational partners to support patient flow, quality care, staff development, and departmental efficiency

Two years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures

 

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

 

Demonstrated clinical experience in behavioral health assessment, crisis services, emergency behavioral health, psychiatric services, community mental health, or a related setting.

 

 

 

 

Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention, patient disposition, referral, and transfer processes.

 

 

 

 

Leadership Experience

 

 

 

 

Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical, behavioral health, healthcare, or related environment.

 

 

 

 

Leadership may be demonstrated through formal supervisory or management responsibilities or through progressive leadership such as serving in a lead/coordinator role, mentoring or training staff, leading projects or process improvement, serving as a clinical or operational resource, taking ownership beyond routine expectations, and demonstrating the ability to guide, support, influence, and problem-solve with others.

 

 

 

 

Formal management experience is preferred but not required when a candidate demonstrates strong leadership capability and readiness for the role.
