General Maintenance Technician I
Department: Facility Services
FLSA Status: Hourly (Full-Time)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Subject to change; overtime, evening, weekend, and on-call emergency shifts may be required)
Pay is $17.00-$19.00, Depending on experience
Location is on McDade Lane
Reports To: Account Manager / Supervisor
Objective / Purpose
The General Maintenance Technician I assists in a variety of skills encompassing most construction trades. Requires the ability to deal tactfully, effectively, and courteously with co-workers, management, and customers.
Major Responsibilities & Functions
Trades & Maintenance: Assist in evaluating, repairing, and performing minor plumbing (toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets), electrical (switches, receptacles, lighting, breakers, ballasts), and HVAC systems (filters, belts, PM equipment).
General Repairs & Carpentry: Perform basic drywall, door, window, wall, prep, and painting repairs across facility buildings.
Work Orders: Receive and complete work orders while accurately recording materials and labor used.
Preventive Maintenance: Support the PM program by providing resources and knowledge to improve equipment reliability.
Safety & Standards: Follow lockout/tagout protocols, use proper PPE, identify potential hazards, and safely operate equipment and ladders.
Vehicle & Operations: Maintain company vehicles (refueling, inspections) and assist/escort outside contractors, vendors, or inspectors when needed.
Flexibility: Share on-call duty for emergency maintenance and be available to work evenings/weekends as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a maintenance role.
Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and practical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, lighting, and minor electrical repairs.
Physical Demands: Able to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
MUST be ABLE TO PASS a drug Screen and Background check!
