→Perform and document assessments of the patient/family including bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner
→Analyze situations, anticipate potential problems, and detect changes in patient status
→Involve patient/family in the patient’s plan of care
→Implement high quality, cost effective patient care in conjunction with the patient/family
→Evaluate and document patient’s response to the care provided and recognize the patient’s progress toward meeting the desired outcomes and discuss with the patient/family
→Educate patient and family; assess patient/family learning needs, capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to teaching
→Demonstrate commitment to team; flexibility; professional, interpersonal communication; critical thinking; and excellent customer service skills
→Be accountable for managing time and resources effectively

Knowledge of the principals of biological, physical, and social science
