About the Company
We are building the rails to bring Wall Street into the 21st century. Backed by $40M from leading crypto and fintech investors, we are bringing together the best minds from Ethereum and Wall Street to rebuild the infrastructure that underpins the financial system — faster, safer, fully on-chain.
We are deeply engaged with banks, investment advisors, and market infrastructure providers. Our Senior Counsel will own the contracts and legal infrastructure that turn frontier technology into commitments the world's largest financial institutions can rely on.
About the Role
Are you ready to own the commercial-contracting engine of a company rebuilding global financial infrastructure? The agreements that carry it get written once. We're hiring the lawyer who leads them.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the commercial-contracting engine: draft, negotiate, and manage the full lifecycle of SaaS and technology-services agreements, institutional partner deals, vendor and procurement contracts, NDAs, and data agreements. First-line review and sign-off on day-to-day matters, partnering with the GC on high-stakes and novel deals.
- Build the infrastructure, not just the documents: stand up scalable contract infrastructure from the ground up — templates, playbooks, an intake/CLM process, and clear turnaround SLAs the whole company can move against.
- Bridge the deal to the people who deliver it: pull operations, compliance, security, product, and engineering into negotiations to pressure-test commitments, then translate executed terms into clear, owned obligations.
- Flex across corporate, employment, insurance, IP, and the full in-house portfolio: as the second lawyer on the team, you will work across matters that arise in the life of a startup and build your generalist skills.
- Manage outside counsel and legal risk: own delegated outside-counsel matters, scope and control legal spend, and review marketing and published content before it ships.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience owning complex commercial and SaaS/technology-services agreements end to end, from negotiation through executed obligations
- Prior in-house experience, or experience working closely with in-house teams
- JD + active bar licence
- Cross-functional by instinct: experience partnering with security, compliance, and engineering stakeholders
- T-shaped and flexible — commercial contracts is your deep specialty, but you step into other work when the moment needs it
- Clear communicator, low-ego, and energised by a fast-moving early stage
- Bonus: experience negotiating agreements for software used by regulated financial institutions
- No crypto experience required; curiosity about on-chain finance is a plus
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision healthcare
- 401(k)
- Generous PTO
