Role Overview
The Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) role within the Center of Excellence (COE) adds hands-on technical design, reusable component creation, platform standard enforcement, complex problem resolution, guidance and support for enterprise development teams, code and design reviews, and use of modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance enterprise-wide digital transformation and application delivery. Senior Pega CSSA with strong technical implementation skills, framework governance experience, and cross-functional team collaboration.
Creates and leads the technical design, configuration, and implementation of core Pega platform services, enterprise reusable assets, shared frameworks, and foundational enterprise integrations. Proposes & designs scalable software solutions to address complex enterprise-wide needs. Prepares technical guidelines, coding standards, and procedural documentation required. Facilitates complex problem resolution across distributed enterprise applications, database interactions, and service layers. Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and support to project delivery teams. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation to ensure strict adherence to Pega Guardrails and COE standards. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance platform capabilities, automation efficiency, and system performance.
Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align internal client needs, developer experience, and system satisfaction as primary considerations in all architectural decisions, leveraging that information to build robust platform services.
Managing risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with enterprise software deployment, security compliance, and platform scaling to ensure they adhere to and support the company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

System Development Lifecycle - Extensive Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ Years of overall IT experience with 5+ years specializing in Pega platform architecture, design, and development, preferably in a large banking / financial institution environment supporting enterprise-scale operations.
- Active Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification (LSA certification is a strong plus)
Deep expertise in building and maintaining Pega enterprise platforms, reusable components, and COE shared frameworks
Advanced knowledge of Pega Data Pages, Activities, Flows, Case Management, and Declarative Rules
Enterprise Integration design and implementation (REST, SOAP, Kafka, MQ, JSON/XML)
Performance tuning, Tracer/PDC analysis, and Pega Guardrail enforcement
Process Improvement
Release Management & Pipeline Automation (Deployment Manager / DevOps)
Software Solutions and Design
Application Development
Design and architecture familiarity/experience
Business and Team Management
Group Problem Solving
Customer Engagement and Solutions Oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Banking experience
Financial institution experience
Understanding regulatory and risk controls in a shared platform environment
