Telespazio Belgium has an on‑site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled Liferay Engineer to work there.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing both technical coordination and engineering support for the PRoS Project and the SCO-12 (Science and Operations IT, Projects and Applications work area at ESAC) Portal Platform activities.

The role combines project coordination responsibilities with hands-on portal engineering and development activities, requiring strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, and software engineering expertise.

  • Technical project coordination and stakeholder management.

  • Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP 7.3 / 7.4+).
  • Java Portal technologies.
  • Strong software development skills using:
    • Java

    • CSS / SCSS
    • FreeMarker
    • Node.js
  • Experience with:
    • ReactJS
    • Bootstrap
    • ClayUI
    • Blade CLI
    • Gradle
    • Relational database technologies.
    • Git-based source control systems.
    • Responsive web design and development.
    • Software design patterns and best practices.
    • End-to-end testing and unit testing.
    • Application troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Space Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in technical project coordination, project management, or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in enterprise web application development and portal technologies.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
    • Experience working within ESA or other international technical environments.
    • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
    • Experience with cloud-based platforms and containerised environments.
    • REST API design and integration.
    • User experience (UX) and portal architecture principles.
    • Knowledge of enterprise content management and digital experience platforms.
    • Experience supporting operational services and production systems.
      • Good English language skills.
      • Strong technical leadership skills.
      • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
      • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      • Results-oriented and proactive approach.
      • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
      • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
      • Agile mindset and continuous improvement mentality.

      You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
