We are hiring a Principal-level Environmental Consultant to help lead and grow our LA office. The ideal candidate is a technical expert and practicing environmental professional who can build lasting client relationships, manage teams, and serve as a strategic leader in private-sector remediation projects.

Serve as a trusted advisor and technical lead for clients in the private sector (developers, attorneys).
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
Oversee operations in collaboration with regional leadership.
Provide direction on regulatory strategies and field execution.

15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with an emphasis in remediation, due diligence, or site redevelopment.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Track record of building and sustaining client relationships, with a proactive and consultative approach.
Deep technical knowledge in California regulatory frameworks (e.g., DTSC, RWQCB, LARWQCB) and private-sector project delivery.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to shape a regional office’s success through client development and leadership.
Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style aligned with Terraphase’s culture.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location.

Pay Range

$145,000—$200,000 USD
