Lab Quality Supervisor

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Laboratory Quality Supervisor for our Quentin J Schmidt Lab in Viburnum, MO, responsible for ensuring analytical accuracy, maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supporting method development and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is scheduled to work M-F, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and may include a weekend rotation.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan.  Benefits start on the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control to support lab processing.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership.
• Experience in conducting audits, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.

• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Proficient working knowledge of analytical chemical lab equipment and operation.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
• Proficient organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Proficient leadership skills to coach and lead an analytical chemistry team.

• →Hand tools, non-powered, computer/tablet, phones/radios, personnel carriers (side-by-side or over-the-road vehicles), loading/hauling equipment.
• →Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear, and work near moving, mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to extreme cold. Moderate noise level.
• →Regularly sitting, talking, hearing, feeling attributes of objects, grasping, pushing, standing, walking. Reaching with hands/arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, climbing or balancing, repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movement. Requires Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; Three-dimensional vision – ability to judge distance and space relationships; Precise hand-eye coordination; Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Level of attention required: concentrated.
