About the Role

The Airfreight Forwarder will be responsible for the hands-on coordination and execution of air freight shipments, ensuring reliable, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery. This role is ideal for a motivated freight forwarding professional who combines strong operational expertise with local market knowledge and thrives in a growth-oriented environment.

You will play a key role in building DP World's air freight operations in Sweden, working closely with customers, airlines, trucking partners, customs authorities, and internal teams to deliver best-in-class service while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.


  • Coordinate import, export, and cross-trade air freight shipments from pickup through to final delivery.
  • Source, negotiate, and secure competitive rates and capacity with airlines, agents, GSAs, and trucking providers.
  • Prepare, validate, and manage transport documentation, including AWBs, invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation through the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers and stakeholders.
  • Generate accurate and competitive air freight quotations through effective pricing and procurement processes.
  • Secure space reservations and issue shipping and delivery instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, security requirements, safety standards, and DP World procedures.
  • Manage hazardous, restricted, and time-critical shipments in accordance with industry regulations.
  • Support customs clearance processes and provide all required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate shipment, cost, and operational records within the TMS.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints through proactive problem-solving and service excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, Customs, Warehousing, IT, and Global Operations Excellence teams.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and the development of efficient air freight operations in Sweden.
  • Support sales teams with market insights and identify opportunities for cross-selling and value-added services.
  • Ensure timely file closure, accurate invoicing, and achievement of operational KPIs.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of freight forwarding experience with a strong focus on air freight.
  • Hands-on operational experience, ideally within a mid-sized or multinational freight forwarding environment.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and operational IT platforms.
  • Exposure to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong customer-facing experience working with shipping, logistics, or warehouse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish freight forwarding market and local transport network.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of international air freight operations, import/export requirements, and customs procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Collaborative approach with a proactive, hands-on attitude.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to navigate change and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of operational KPIs and performance management.
