Role Purpose
To lead the design and development of complex end-to-end supply chain solutions during the RFQ process and post-award stages, translating business requirements into practical, scalable engineering designs. The role involves defining strategies and acting as a trusted advisor for customers and internal leadership to ensure a successful implementation.

Reporting to:   Deputy General Manager - Solution Engineering - Global Service Centre
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the design of supply chain solutions from large scale down to small scale as part of RFQ and translate customer requirements into operational solutions 
  • Design end to end warehouse solutions including, but not limited to extensive data analysis, process flow diagrams, Headcount calculations (direct and indirect labor), facility layouts, Storage designs and other related activities
  • Evaluation, design and implementation of automation based in business needs 
  • Lead the presenting of technical solutions to customers through proposals, conference calls and presentations in conjunction with account management 
  • Work closely with European Solutions team as part of the solution development process.
  • Lead the creation of pricing structure / cost model that includes but not limited to identifying cost components, Populating the cost model with all identified cost components, development of economics, scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, 
  • Actively support or lead the delivery of the engineering elements of new business launch including the creation of master data, process validation, infrastructure works, onboarding of plant teams and onsite contractor management.
  • Act as interface between regional function and all other areas of the business as required
  • Ensure engineering function is aligned with operations team and other support functions during RFQ and launch phase.
  • Complete new processes or update existing processes as required using the MTM work measurement method. 
  • Act as a “trouble shooter” when required, identify pinch points or problem areas, ensure root cause analysis is completed where appropriate and corrective measures are implemented into operations.
  • Able to work independently and under own initiative on any site and ensure the delivery of engineering obligations / requirements as dictated by region engineering management and local plant management
  • Support in the training and developing of plant-based engineering teams and embed regional standards within sites.
  • Be a SME (subject matter expert) on engineering processes, tools and techniques including MTM, AutoCAD, SketchUp modelling, visualization & Excel
  • Any activity or function as deemed within the scope and capability of the role in the support of engineering function or operations
  • Always act as an ambassador for DP World when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 12+ yrs of experience in designing solutions for either of the indicated verticals - Automotive / Tech / Retail / FMCG/ Industrial / Chemical sectors
  • Minimum 10+ yrs of experience to headcount modelling, warehouse layout and design  
  • Minimum 5+ yrs of experience of generating cost models and pricing structure
  • Should have designed and implemented at least a couple of automation projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. 
  • Professional computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio , PowerPoint or equivalent, and Project Management software are required.
  • Strong layout design capability with proficiency in using AutoCAD to design functional workings of solutions in 3D and 2D formats.

  • Languages - You speak and write fluent English – additional languages are a bonus, in particular German, Dutch and French.
