LIC Warehouse Assistant


The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries – has an immediate vacancy for a LIC Warehouse Assistant to join the Licensed Inland Certified (LIC) Warehouse team on a full-time basis.


The LIC Warehouse Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including loading and unloading containers, operating forklifts, consolidating and palletising cargo, receiving and storing inventory, preparing customer orders, and assisting with deliveries. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring goods are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organised, and customer-focused warehouse environment. The LIC Warehouse Assistant must hold a valid forklift certification and a dock pass or be able to obtain a valid dock pass. A valid heavy truck licence would be advantageous.


Main Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

  • Assist physically and/or operate a forklift to load and unload containers and trucks.
  • Consolidate, palletise, package, and repackage cargo and goods.
  • Read labels and ensure goods are accurately sorted and stored in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick goods from designated warehouse areas and prepare orders for customer collection or delivery.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and relocating inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Assist with serving customers collecting goods from the warehouse.
  • Assist with delivery duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Assist with general warehouse administration, including data entry, printing labels, and processing goods in/out documentation.
  • Raise discrepancies between physical inventory and system records when identified.


2. Inventory and Storage

  • Assist with identifying goods that are eligible for storage fees in accordance with company policy.
  • Participate in monthly storage reviews and inventory counts.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly inventory reporting activities.
  • Relocate stagnant inventory as directed by management.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate storage conditions to preserve inventory quality and condition.


3. Damages

  • Report damaged goods immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Complete supporting documentation and provide photographic evidence where required.
  • Assist in ensuring inventory discrepancies and damages are accurately recorded and investigated.


4. Equipment and Machinery

  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Conduct and assist with weekly equipment inspections and checklists.
  • Report equipment defects, maintenance requirements, and safety concerns.
  • Assist with coordinating maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure forklifts and equipment are properly stored and secured at the end of each day.


5. Health and Safety

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, accessibility, and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate all equipment and machinery safely and responsibly.
  • Ensure all licences, certifications, and training remain valid.
  • Assist in promoting a safe working environment for colleagues, customers, and visitors.


6. Customer Service

  • Proactively assist customers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to customers collecting goods.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a high standard of customer service.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. Mandatory:

  • Valid forklift certification.
  • Valid dock pass / LIC pass or the ability to obtain one.
  • Minimum 1–3 years' experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory control, stock management, or freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and goods handling procedures.
  • Experience loading, unloading, sorting, and storing inventory.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.


2. Advantageous:

  • Valid heavy truck driver's licence.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience within a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and import/export processes in Bermuda.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment in a high-volume environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Post-secondary studies in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, or a related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a warehousing or logistics environment.
