Purchasing Specialist

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring goods and services needed to support day-to-day operations, ensuring the organization receives quality products at competitive prices and in a timely manner. This role manages a specific category or set of vendor relationships, tracks purchase orders from request through delivery, and works closely with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and budget constraints.

• →Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery timelines
• →Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders (POs) through fulfillment
• →Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors within assigned category
• →Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstock
• →Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, delivery, quality, or invoicing
• →Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor documentation
• →Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers
• →Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Operations, department heads) to forecast needs and align purchasing with budget
• →Research market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities
• →Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
• →Assist with vendor onboarding and accounts payable process

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience or relevant certifications
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Proficiency with purchasing/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

This is a full-time, Exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed..
