The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies within the organisation. The role ensures a safe working environment, promotes a strong safety culture, and guarantees compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with applicable legislation and regulations, in collaboration with the (Q)HSE Manager

  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external HSE requirements

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential workplace hazards

  • Develop and implement effective risk control measures and mitigation strategies

  • Organise and deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks

  • Promote awareness and engagement in HSE culture throughout the organisation

  • Perform internal audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance

  • Report findings and provide actionable recommendations to the (Q)HSE Manager

  • Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions

  • Maintain incident records and provide regular reports to management

  • Act as the main point of contact for HSE-related matters

  • Communicate HSE updates, policies, and best practices across the organisation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HSE performance and processes

  • Support the development of a proactive and positive safety culture

Requirements

  • NEBOSH certification (required)

  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related field

  • Proven experience in a similar HSE role

  • Strong knowledge of applicable HSE legislation and regulations

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities

  • Proactive, hands-on, and results-driven approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

  • High level of flexibility and adaptability

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership

  • QMS system
