International Behaviour Technician (IBT) Certification Trainee

We are excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the International Behavior Technician® (IBT) Certification Course.

An IBT® is a paraprofessional who supports the learning needs of individuals with autism or related developmental or intellectual disabilities. An IBT® works under close supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or International Behavior Analyst (IBA) in clinical, educational, or community settings.

The IBT® is a certification earned through the International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO). The Wellness Centre is proud to be an IBAO Approved Content Provider for the IBT® Certification. 

Training Component 1:

The IBT® Certification Course will provide each trainee with 40hrs of education on topics related to the following:

• Disabilities
• Behavior Basics
• Data Collection
• Assistance in Assessment Procedures
• Teaching Skills
• Challenging Behaviors
• Professionalism
• Culture and Ethics

Training Component 2:

The IBT® Certification Course will provide each trainee with 300hrs of Supervised Fieldwork at The Wellness Centre. Fieldwork provides each trainee with hands on practical experience working with clients across the age range and in multiple settings. During fieldwork trainee's will be exposed to client relationship building, assessment, treatment planning, data collection, and a multidisciplinary team approach. 

Training Component 3:

The IBT® Certification Exam is the final step in the training course. Once all 40hrs of Coursework and 300hrs of Supervised Fieldwork have been completed, the trainee will be approved to write the online IBAO IBT® Certification Exam.

Full Scholarship available for eligible Caymanian candidates, including $400 weekly stipend
