Are you a Graduate Civil Engineer who has a strong interest in transportation engineering, and more specifically within the aviation sector? If you answered “yes”, then consider joining us as a Graduate Design Engineer with our Aviation team in Milwaukee!
 
As a member of our employee-owned and integrated team of multi-discipline professionals, you will work alongside Civil Engineers, Designers, Technicians, and Planners to provide engineering expertise at airports across the country including small general aviation airports, large international hub airports, and military bases. You will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings using AutoCAD, frequently performing calculations for project dimensions and elevations, computing and tabulating quantities, and performing preliminary surveys and construction administration duties as needed.
 
As shown by our extensive portfolio, you will get your career off the ground by contributing to a variety of project opportunities, including the rehabilitation and construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, roadways, NAVAIDS, fueling facilities, and security enhancements.

For this opportunity we are seeking qualified candidates who currently or plan to reside within a regular commuting distance of our MKE / Wauwatosa, WI. The selected candidate will be provided with a flexible hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) work arrangement.
 
Note: The selected candidate must complete and pass all background and security requests required by state and/or federal agencies responsible for aviation operations as a condition of employment.
  • Upcoming graduate or professional with up to four years of progressive experience developing construction documentation for various transportation infrastructure projects. 
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D; Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply effective verbal and written communication skills when writing specifications and reports, participating in project team discussions, and interacting with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to travel as needed for construction administration, team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel may be required. 
  • FE / EIT certification strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices. 
  • Previous coursework or project assignments related to airport planning and design.
  • Previous experience conducting topographic surveys, on-site inspections, and construction observations.
  • Previous training or experience with ArcGIS.
