Responsibilities
~2 min readYou'll work closely with the Community Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly — balancing leasing support, financial administration, and resident relations while helping the team deliver an exceptional living experience.
Leasing & Marketing Support
- →Showcase apartments and community amenities to prospective residents
- →Track competitive properties and market trends to help shape leasing strategy
- →Help prepare newsletters, event materials, and promotional flyers
- →Conduct credit and reference checks on prospective residents
Resident Experience
- →Serve as a point of contact for resident inquiries, requests, and concerns
- →Support renewal notices and retention follow-ups
- →Plan and help execute community events that build connection
- →Maintain proactive, friendly communication that keeps residents satisfied
- →Oversee move-in and move-out processes, ensuring lease terms are followed
Financial Administration
- →Process, record, and deposit rental payments, application fees, and security deposits
- →Assist in reviewing delinquent accounts and initiating collection or legal action as needed
- →Process invoices through PayScan and verify vendor credentialing before scheduling services
- →Support preparation of the annual property budget
- →Maintain accurate financial records in Yardi and assist with financial reporting
- →Assist with deposit accounting and security deposit reconciliations
Operations & Compliance
- →Keep resident files and lease agreements accurate and compliant with Fair Housing, DRE, and all applicable laws
- →Ensure timely renewals and ongoing lease compliance
- →Conduct regular property walks to maintain cleanliness and curb appeal
- →Enforce community policies and lease terms, addressing concerns professionally
- →Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures
- →Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure service requests are handled promptly
- →Maintain proficiency in Yardi and CRM IQ, using system tools to support leasing, accounting accuracy, and data integrity
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in multifamily or property management
- A clean DMV record and ability to pass a background check
- Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and other applicable regulations
- Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and comfort with Microsoft Office
- Ability to walk the property regularly, including stairs, for inspections and resident communication
- Comfort using approved AI tools to draft communications and streamline workflows, with a sharp eye for reviewing that content for accuracy and compliance
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
- A high level of integrity and a genuine, people-first approach to the job
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the community needs
This role is a launching point. With strong performance, Assistant Community Managers can grow into Community Manager, Community Manager II, and Senior Community Manager roles as opportunities arise.
