We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace - a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. At Tracksuit we consider a unique perspective, diverse experience and a growth mindset to be of greater value than ticking every box on an JD. If you think you have what it takes but don’t have the exact experience we’ve set out, please still get in touch and apply. We’d love to chat!

At Tracksuit, we provide beautiful, radically affordable, always-on brand tracking which is easy to use compared to traditional methods. We recognise that sounds like a ton of buzzwords for marketers, so what it really means is that we did over 50,000 surveys last month to find out what real humans think and feel about the world’s best brands and their competitors. Check us out here: www.gotracksuit.com🙌

Data is Tracksuit’s moat: it’s the core of our product and integral to everything we do. We’re looking for a Data Scientist to amplify the value of our data and help us become the common language to measure, understand and communicate the value of brand building.

As a Data Scientist, you’ll be a critical part of our survey team, working with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and survey experts to scale our survey operation while maintaining world-class data quality.
  • You’ll be working on some of the most impactful projects in the company: You’ll be applying your data skills to solve problems at the heart of our business model, directly driving our ability to scale and launch new products.
  • You get to innovate: You’ll have license to run experiments, imagine surveying from first principles, and implement solutions with a product team to build the world’s best survey engine.
  • Your work is directly tied to business outcomes: As you shape the trajectory of Tracksuit, you’ll be able to directly measure your impact and demonstrate your contribution to the business.
  • We don’t have a roadmap dictated to us: You’ll have high-level business goals and outcomes, but it’s up to you to define the problems and solutions.
  • We’re backed by product-legend Lenny Rachitsky: Founder of Lenny’s Podcast and Lenny’s Newsletter. In Lenny’s words: “Across the thousands of startup decks I've looked at, I've almost never seen a growth trajectory like the growth Tracksuit has seen.”
  • Has 3+ years experience as a Data Scientist
  • Brings strong data science craft:
  • Deep understanding of statistics, including both frequentist and Bayesian approaches.
  • Strong fluency in SQL and in scripting languages such as Python and R.
  • (Nice to have) Experience with operational research, experimentation, or classical machine learning
  • Drives impact beyond the code:
  • Impact-oriented — You're energized by solving real problems and thrive when exploring new domains
  • Think commercially — You balance statistical rigor with business pragmatism, making smart trade-offs to ship solutions that matter
  • Build momentum independently — You prioritize your work, drive projects forward, and know when to move fast vs. when to de-risk
  • Strong communicator — You find joy communicating technical work in ways that resonate with customers, product partners, and commercial stakeholders
  • Kind: This is such a collaborative role that we want a great, kind human.
  • Designing machine learning algorithms to optimise survey collection
  • Running and analysing experiments to improve respondent engagement
  • Building our survey data quality monitoring system
  • Exploring new ways to measure consumer perception, including with AI
  • Working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to guide the implementation of all of the above.
  • Applying diverse data science skillsets such as survey analytics, statistics, machine learning and generative AI to our proprietary data to solve business problems.
