Solution Architect – Solutions and Platform Advisory

Location: US / Remote – Preferred East Coast

Role Overview 

Trianz is seeking a Solution architect to join its Solutions and Platform Advisory team, which shapes cloud strategy, solution design, architecture, and transformation roadmaps for enterprise clients.

The role leads Google Cloud migration assessments, target-state architecture, landing zone design, migration and modernization roadmaps, and business cases, and works closely with sales, delivery, and client stakeholders to ensure every solution is secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and deliverable.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on expertise across Google Cloud foundations, networking, security, containers, and data services with strong consulting, pre-sales solutioning, and executive communication skills, and can leverage Trianz platforms and accelerators such as Concierto to accelerate assessment, migration, and operations.

Key Responsibilities  

1. Advisory: Lead client workshops, cloud-readiness and portfolio assessments, and executive briefings to define Google Cloud strategy, adoption roadmaps, and target operating models aligned to business objectives.
2. Solution: Own the technical solution for pre-sales pursuits, including solution architecture, effort and cost estimates, bills of materials, statements of work, and RFP and proposal responses.
3. Business Case: Build business cases, TCO analyses, and ROI models, and present value, risk, and cost trade-offs to client stakeholders.
4. Foundations: Design enterprise Google Cloud landing zones, including resource hierarchy (organization, folders, and projects), Cloud Identity and IAM, Organization Policy constraints, billing structure, centralized logging and monitoring, and guardrails, aligned to the Google Cloud Architecture Framework.
5. Network and Security: Architect Shared VPC and hub-and-spoke topologies, Network Connectivity Center, Cloud Interconnect and HA VPN hybrid connectivity, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS, Secret Manager, and Security Command Center.
6. Migration and Modernization: Define 6R disposition strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retain, retire), migration wave plans, and cutover approaches using the Trianz Concierto platform, and design modernization paths to GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and Spanner where appropriate.
7. Data and AI: Shape data platform and analytics architectures using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage, and identify opportunities for Vertex AI and generative AI solutions.
8. Resilience: Design high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures across zones and regions, including RPO/RTO definition, Backup and DR Service, and DR testing strategies.
9. Automation: Define infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering standards using Terraform, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, and GitOps practices, and guide delivery teams through implementation.
10. FinOps: Establish cost-governance approaches, including labeling standards, budgets and alerts, billing export analysis in BigQuery, rightsizing recommendations, and committed use discount strategies.
11. Asset Creation: Build reusable reference architectures, solution accelerators, points of view, and offering collateral for the Solutions team, and support Google Cloud partner specializations and co-selling motions.
12. Concierto Platform Advisory: Act as the Google Cloud subject-matter expert for the Trianz Concierto platform; provide input on migration and modernization capability improvements based on field experience and client feedback.
13. Design Authority: Provide architecture governance during delivery, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor engineers and consultants across the solutions team.
14. Thought Leadership: Stay current with Google Cloud services, product roadmap, and industry trends, and translate them into client-relevant recommendations and Trianz offerings.

Ideal Candidate Profile  

• 15+ years in enterprise technology, with a solutioning experience.
• Typically 10+ years of IT infrastructure, application, or cloud experience, including 5+ years architecting and delivering solutions on Google Cloud; multi-cloud experience is an advantage.
• Proven experience designing Google Cloud landing zones and enterprise foundations, including resource hierarchy, IAM, networking, security controls, and governance.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale migrations of servers, databases, and applications from on-premises or other clouds to Google Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of GKE, Kubernetes, containers, serverless, and application modernization patterns.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, plus scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience in pre-sales solutioning, estimation, SOW development, and TCO and business-case modeling in a consulting or systems-integrator environment.
• Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR as applied to cloud environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage both C-level executives and engineering teams.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is required; Professional Cloud Network Engineer, Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Data Engineer certifications are an advantage.

Compensation & Benefits for Fulltime hiring.  

Trianz compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay ranges between USD $175,000 to $225,000. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
