Superintendent

Tribal One Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee and manage federal construction projects in and around Killeen, Texas. The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field operations of assigned projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents, federal regulations, and quality standards.

The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader and works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Owners, Government Representatives, Subcontractors, Design Teams, and the Preconstruction Team to successfully deliver high-quality federal construction projects.

• Manage all daily field operations for assigned construction projects.
• Develop and execute project work plans to meet schedule and budget requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and self-performed work.
• Maintain project progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Monitor workforce productivity and performance.
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges.

• Ensure compliance with all federal contract requirements and project specifications.
• Maintain adherence to EM 385-1-1, OSHA, USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, and other agency requirements as applicable.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with project safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Support labor compliance requirements, certified payroll processes, and wage determinations as required.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules.
• Coordinate project activities with the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
• Lead and facilitate weekly construction progress meetings.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, utility outages, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor schedule performance and implement corrective actions when delays occur.
• Coordinate closely with the Preconstruction Team during project startup and transition phases.

• Promote Tribal One's safety culture and commitment to zero incidents.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and job hazard analyses.
• Lead daily safety briefings and weekly toolbox talks.
• Ensure all personnel, subcontractors, and visitors comply with project safety requirements.
• Immediately address unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

• Support project quality management programs.
• Verify work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and testing activities.
• Review and resolve punch list items.
• Ensure successful project turnover and closeout.

• Maintain positive relationships with government representatives, clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Represent Tribal One professionally during project meetings and site visits.
• Communicate project status, concerns, and accomplishments effectively.

• Prepare and maintain daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
• Document project activities, weather conditions, manpower, equipment utilization, and safety observations.
• Track field changes and communicate impacts to project management.
• Maintain accurate records required for project administration and closeout.

• Ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk uneven terrain and climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Must be able to access all areas of a construction project safely.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 7 years of construction field experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial, government, or federal construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple subcontractors and complex construction activities.
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

• Experience with federal agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, Department of Defense, or other federal clients.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
• EM 385-1-1 experience.
• Quality Control and/or Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification.
• Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar project management software.
• Military base construction experience.
