HT-Portable Type CMM Operator

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has a current opening for a first shift CMM Operator with our Decatur, IL team. This is a first shift non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of $20-25.

Overall Purpose

The Portable Arm CMM Operator participates in the site inspection function by measuring customer parts with a portable arm coordinate measuring machine. The Portable Arm CMM Operator uses proper set up and inspection techniques and operates the equipment, accurately and efficiently.

Site Supervisor/Site Leaders

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

Client Relationship & Business Development

• Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Operations

• Administer previously created inspection path programs

• Set up fixture or holding device to properly support the part being inspected

• Ensure part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level

• Verify the inspection equipment is suitable, calibrated, and operational as required

• Operate portable arm coordinate measuring machine

• Determine part conformance to customer's engineering drawing by measurement inspection

• Edit part inspection programs under programmer supervision

• Document and report non-conforming material as required

•  Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

Technical

• Experience running a portable arm-type CMM (Romer, Faro, etc...)

• Intermediate-level proficiency navigating MS Windows™

• Demonstrated comfort level interfacing with staff and management, while working in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated job diligence and attention to detail

• Comprehension-level knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings

• Comprehension-level knowledge and understanding of inspection techniques, and the selection and manipulation of measuring tools, equipment, and gages

• Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering specifications

• Comprehension-level knowledge and ability to interpret geometrically dimensioned and toleranced engineering drawings

• Able to unpack and repackage incoming materials safely and as instructed

• Operating-level knowledge of material handling equipment - pallet jacks and hoist
