As a long-established exterior construction contractor serving residential and commercial projects throughout Virginia and surrounding markets, is seeking a Site Supervisor - Exterior Construction to join its growing field team in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg, VA area. This is a hands-on field leadership role for an experienced construction professional who can manage multiple jobsites, lead crews and subcontractors, and recognize quality exterior installation work in the field.

Responsibilities

  • →Oversee day-to-day field execution across multiple active residential and commercial exterior construction projects.
  • →Supervise in-house installers and subcontract crews while setting clear expectations for productivity, quality, and schedule.
  • →Visit jobsites daily to monitor progress, inspect workmanship, and address field issues.
  • →Manage approximately 1-10 concurrent projects depending on size and complexity.
  • →Review plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and installation details before and during construction.
  • →Inspect roofing, siding, windows, and other exterior work for proper installation and quality.
  • →Coordinate material orders, deliveries, quantities, returns, and jobsite needs.
  • →Train and coach installers on proper installation practices.
  • →Maintain punch lists and ensure deficiencies are corrected before project completion.
  • →Enforce OSHA requirements, fall-protection procedures, PPE standards, and other jobsite safety expectations.
  • →Conduct safety checks and toolbox talks.
  • →Maintain daily logs, progress photos, crew hours, and other field documentation.
  • →Coordinate with general contractors, homeowners, inspectors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • →Identify changes in project scope and communicate potential change-order needs.
  • →Keep jobsites organized, clean, safe, and secure.
  • 5+ years of active construction field supervision experience.
  • Experience as a Site Supervisor, Superintendent, Field Supervisor, or comparable field leader.
  • Hands-on knowledge of at least one exterior construction trade, such as roofing, siding, or windows.
  • Ability to evaluate installation quality and identify work that does not meet project, code, or manufacturer requirements.
  • Experience directly supervising subcontractors and/or installer crews.
  • Experience managing projects or jobsites from start through completion.
  • Residential, multifamily, and/or commercial construction experience.
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and manufacturer installation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality control.
  • Ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously.
  • Comfortable using a tablet, smartphone, and construction or project-management software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work primarily in the field throughout the Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and New River Valley area.
  • Experience across multiple exterior trades, including roofing, siding, and windows.
  • James Hardie or other fiber-cement siding experience.
  • Asphalt shingle roofing experience.
  • Vinyl siding experience.
  • Window installation experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • James Hardie, GAF, CertainTeed, or similar manufacturer certifications.
  • EPA RRP Lead-Safe certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with construction scheduling or project-management software.
  • $65,000-$80,000 base salary, depending on experience.
