Truspace is looking for a Intermediate Project Manager to join our busy and growing company. The Intermediate Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review project drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy with scope, schedule, and overall project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of assigned construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project team members.
- Collaborate with Site Managers and Supervisors to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules.
- Identify risks to schedule or budget and develop recovery strategies when required.
- Resolve project issues and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Support Site Managers and Supervisors in promoting and maintaining a strong project safety culture.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure project financials, billing, and cost tracking are accurate and up to date.
- Lead and chair project meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, providing clear updates on project status and progress.
- Manage and process change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior project staff and contribute to the development of project team members.
- Participate in tender closings and procurement activities in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience working on commercial or institutional TI projects required
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong working knowledge of project management and scheduling software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong relationship-building and client management abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel to designated job sites as required.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license required.
