Return Merchandise Authority (RMA) Quality Specialist

The first Turtlebox was born out of necessity. After breaking every “loud” product on the market through routine outdoor use, the idea of the Turtlebox was born in our garage, not as a business but just for personal use. Nothing else could get the job done.

Most portable speakers aren’t actually meant for the outdoors and can’t withstand the elements, the ones that can aren’t loud enough to be heard. When you’re at the beach or on an ATV, you need sound to carry in order to hear it over the wind, waves, and boat engines, you need a Turtlebox.

We soon realized that there was a huge need for the Turtlebox among likeminded adventurers and our journey began to set out to make the world’s loudest most rugged outdoor portable speaker.

The RMA Quality Specialist owns the returns process end to end: inspecting, testing, and triaging warranty returns; shipping failed units back to the OEM for root-cause analysis; and building the failure-trend data that feeds back into product improvement. This role also supports production quality by inspecting and testing incoming production samples from our OEM or CM partners and assisting with in-house advanced engineering testing as required. This is a hands-on role for someone who is meticulous, detail-driven, and comfortable owning a queue of physical product moving through multiple stages of inspection. 

• Associate degree or higher, or equivalent hands-on experience 

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a quality inspection and testing role, preferably in consumer electronics, consumer goods, or related industries 

• Proficiency working with a computer 

• Familiar with MS Office  

• Experience with ERP or quality-tracking systems (e.g., SFCS) a plus 

• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure quality requirements  

• Ability to follow documented procedures and standards  

• Ability to use inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, multimeters, basic electronic test equipment) 

• Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail 

• Comfortable with repetitive hands-on tasks and occasional lifting of product and packaging 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience testing audio, electronics, or Bluetooth-connected consumer products 

• Familiarity with ESD-safe handling practices 

• Experience supporting root-cause analysis, 8D, or CAPA processes
