Typical Duties Include, but Are Not Limited To
• Oversee daily delivery operations, including route assignments, dispatch readiness, driver coordination, and completion of scheduled deliveries.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and route priorities to support customer commitments, branch transfers, and efficient use of drivers and vehicles.
• Communicate with drivers, warehouse leadership, branch teams, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, special instructions, and other delivery-related issues.
• Ensure drivers receive the correct paperwork, delivery information, and merchandise before leaving the Distribution Center.
• Verify that quantities, destinations, and delivery instructions are accurate before loads are dispatched.
• Monitor delivery documentation and ensure completed paperwork is returned, accurate, and processed according to company procedure.
• Support the safe loading and unloading of delivery vehicles and verify that products are secured and protected from damage.
• Review delivery discrepancies, damages, refused shipments, and returns; communicate issues promptly to the appropriate manager or department.
• Monitor vehicle condition, cleanliness, inspections, and maintenance needs; report safety or mechanical concerns promptly.
• Promote compliance with company safety procedures, delivery standards, and applicable transportation requirements.
• Assist with driver training, daily direction, workload delegation, and reinforcement of performance and service expectations.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe staging, loading, and delivery area.
• Provide delivery support as needed to maintain customer service and operational commitment

Educational Requirements and/or Experience Required
This position requires at least 3 years of experience in a wholesale/distribution, delivery, logistics, warehouse, or other job-related environment. Previous experience coordinating drivers, routes, or delivery operations is preferred.

• Previous delivery, distribution, warehouse, or logistics experience required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to verify delivery paperwork, quantities, addresses, and instructions
• Ability to prioritize routes and coordinate multiple delivery activities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interpret instructions, policies, and delivery documentation
• Working knowledge of safe loading, delivery, and material-handling practices
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment when required
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and delegate tasks when necessary
• Good judgment and sound decision-making skills
• Ability to coach employees, communicate expectations, and address operational issues promptly
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as delivery needs change
 

Physical Demands
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs regularly
• Continuous walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and carrying

• Ability to work in warehouse, loading dock, and outdoor delivery environments as operational needs require
