Patient Transporter -Temp Services

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Temporary Services is seeking Patient Transporter to transport patients of University Hospital internally throughout the hospital complex. To provide safe,
timely, comfortable, and courteous transportation for each patient. To exhibit utmost professionalism,
friendliness, and helpfulness to contribute to a lasting impression of excellence in patient care for patients
and family members.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Transports patients to and from treatment areas, including expired patients to the hospital
morgue.
2. Records accurate patient information on log sheets provided by initiating department.
3. Secures equipment necessary for movement of patients, ensuring the equipment is clean
and in good working order.
4. Assists patient care staff in transferring patients from beds to stretchers, wheelchairs or
other approved means of conveyance.
5. Fills liquid oxygen tanks consistently at beginning of workday and uses as required or
needed.
6. Acts in a courteous and caring manner toward all patients, guests, visitors, families,
students, and staff. Serves as an ambassador of goodwill for the hospital, treating everyone
with respect.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED preferred.
