Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences, safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, physics, or a related field plus three (3) or more years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- Computer competency
- Administration experience
Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification). A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law. Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity. The information obtained in these reports will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law.
- OSHA’s Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard (HAZWOPER); 40 Hour initial training with eight (8) hours annual refresher. Will be provided within the first year if candidate does not have it.
- CPR/AED Certified. Will be provided within the first year if candidate does not have it.
- Ability to follow oral instructions, read and write.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and ability to utilize and make appropriate decisions.
Responsibilities

- →Evaluate employee and student safety, recommend corrective actions, and conduct follow-up audits to confirm issues have been addressed.
- →Provide general, electrical, and fire safety training to university employees and students.
- →Help develop policies and procedures that support regulatory compliance.
- →Maintain administrative records for the Safety Compliance Division.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
