Material Workpack Engineer

UGL is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Materials Workpack Engineer to join our Perth-based team. This role is critical in supporting the effective planning, management and reporting of project materials across major construction and maintenance projects, with a particular focus on Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) disciplines.

Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction and site teams, you will play a key role in ensuring material availability, Workpack readiness and accurate materials reporting to support successful project execution. Key Responsibilities
•    Support materials management activities across E&I and SMP scopes for construction and maintenance projects.
•    Coordinate material planning, expediting, receipting, warehousing, kit preparation, allocation and reconciliation activities.
•    Monitor material status and availability to ensure workpacks are complete and ready for execution.
•    Develop and maintain materials tracking tools, reports and dashboards to provide accurate project status information.
•    Analyse material shortages, procurement delays and inventory issues, implementing solutions to minimise schedule impacts.
•    Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and site teams to resolve material-related challenges.
•    Maintain accurate inventory records and material management databases.
•    Support forecasting, reporting and project controls activities through data analysis and performance reporting.
•    Assist in identifying risks, trends and opportunities to improve materials management processes and project delivery.
•    Ensure compliance with project procedures, client requirements and quality standards. 

About You

You are a proactive and analytical professional with a strong background in materials management and a passion for supporting project delivery through effective planning and coordination.

To be successful, you will have:
•    Experience in Materials Management and Workpack support within construction, maintenance, resources, energy or infrastructure projects.
•    Strong knowledge of materials management processes, including planning, expediting, receipting, warehousing, kitting and allocation 
•    Experience supporting both Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) disciplines.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, reporting and spreadsheet development.
•    Experience developing or maintaining Power BI dashboards and visualisations.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends and risks 
•    Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
•    Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
•    Familiarity with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar enterprise resource planning systems will be highly regarded.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
