The Instructor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine with subspecialty focus in Gynecologic Pathology functions as an expert clinical and academic faculty member within the Department.

This position requires specialized expertise and recognized professional standing in Gynecologic Pathology. The incumbent is appointed based on demonstrated expert authority, advanced diagnostic skills, and scholarly or clinical contributions that advance the Department’s clinical, academic, educational, and quality missions.

Requirements

Must be an M.D., D.O., or equivalent who is Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology, or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty fellowship training in Gynecologic Pathology.

Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida or eligible for a Florida Medical Faculty Certificate (MFC) to practice under institutional licensure guidelines.

Demonstrated advanced expertise in Gynecologic Pathology, supported by scholarly activity, clinical leadership, strong educational track record, and other professional recognition.

Advanced, specialized knowledge in Surgical Pathology, with a focus on Gynecologic Pathology with strong skills in complex diagnostic interpretation and intraoperative consultation.

Ability to function independently as a definitive diagnostic authority, rendering expert interpretations that directly impact patient care and treatment decisions.

Experience improving laboratory quality, safety, and efficiency through expert input, data-driven quality initiatives and process improvement, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP and CLIA regulations and standards.

Ability to communicate complex diagnostic information effectively to clinicians, learners, and patients.

Knowledge of all hospital and service procedures and policies regarding hazardous material management, biohazard exposure and the use of universal precautions.

Perform clinical and translational research that advances the knowledge of gynecologic diseases.
