- Operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
- Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on information from exam triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient’s screening form.
- Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body.
- Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Follows safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient’s file.
- Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
- Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
