This position is open to nationals of the Philippines and candidates holding a valid work permit in the Philippines.

As a Supply and Logistics Assistant, you will support UNICEF Philippines Country Office in the timely, efficient and compliant delivery of supply chain services for programme and operational requirements. You will contribute to procurement, logistics coordination, warehousing and inventory management, working closely with programme sections, field operations, implementing partners and government counterparts across the Philippines. Your work will support the effective delivery of essential supplies and services, including emergency preparedness and response, while ensuring adherence to UNICEF policies, procedures, ethical standards and value-for-money principles.

How can you make a difference?

In this role, you will provide operational and administrative support across procurement and logistics activities, including procurement and contract documentation, supplier and service provider coordination, shipment monitoring, customs clearance follow-up, warehousing and inventory management, and supply chain reporting. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely delivery of supplies and services for children and communities across the Philippines.

Key functions and accountabilities:

Supply Chain Service Delivery and Response

  • Procurement and contracting: Support procurement planning, preparation and monitoring of procurement and contract documentation, purchase orders, and coordination with suppliers and programme sections.
  • In-country logistics: Support logistics planning, shipment monitoring, customs clearance, transportation and delivery arrangements for programme and emergency supplies.
  • Warehousing and inventory management: Support warehouse operations, stock monitoring, inventory reconciliation, reporting, and the receipt and dispatch of supplies.
  • Alternative delivery mechanisms and procurement services: Support procurement services transactions, supply chain data management, coordination with implementing partners, and the monitoring and delivery of supplies.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration, contract/commercial law, public administration or another relevant field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, contract administration or a commercial/public-sector operations context is required.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of supply chain processes, public-sector procurement, logistics coordination, warehousing and inventory management, and relevant policies and procedures, together with experience using Microsoft Office applications and digital tools, and strong skills in work planning and prioritization, stakeholder coordination, problem-solving and writing, is required.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

Languages:

  • Knowledge of Filipino or another Philippine local language is an asset.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is also an asset.

Professional experience:

  • Experience in development or humanitarian work, emergency preparedness and response, supplier coordination, and use of SAP/VISION or similar enterprise resource planning systems is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience with the United Nations system, government, NGOs or international organizations in the Philippines is an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

Education:

  • Technical or university courses related to supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration, contract/commercial law, public administration or another relevant field are preferred.
