About the Role
~1 min readThe Administration Officer centrally supports the activities of the Academic Units within the Arts and Society portfolio by delivering high‑quality, reliable administrative services across a broad range of functions. These include communications, finance, travel, procurement, people and culture processes, research support, facilities and WHS coordination, event assistance, and academic administration.
The role ensures smooth day‑to‑day operations by providing efficient, customer‑focused service, and by contributing to consistent, streamlined administrative practices across the portfolio’s schools and disciplines.
Success in this role requires the ability to build positive working relationships, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and engage confidently with stakeholders in person, online and by phone. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently are essential, alongside competence in utilising administrative systems, including the University’s service management platform (Help Hub).
Responsibilities

- →Provide accurate, solutions-focused advice and assistance, applying relevant policies and procedures to support staff enquiries.
- →Contribute to a positive and high‑performing service culture by identifying opportunities for service improvement and developing specialist expertise to lead key processes or initiatives. Support learning and teaching programs, including the coordination of student activities and other key administrative tasks.
- →Assist with internal communications and events, engaging professionally with staff, students and the wider community.
- →Contribute to a positive and high-performing service culture by identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
What we’re looking for:

- →Exceptional organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, using discretion and sound judgement.
- →Strong attention to detail.
- →A high level of computer literacy, including competence in the Microsoft 365 suite, and experience with other database operations
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
