Civil Engineering professional with 4+ years of accomplishment in designing Civil projects. This individual assists Valdes A&E Senior Civil engineers working with other Valdes A&E discipline engineers and client engineering representatives.

Display a general knowledge of the Civil Engineering discipline

Provide generally accepted practices with project layout and design with minimal guidance from Senior Civil engineers

Engage in design production, as directed by Senior Engineers, and help produce complete, quality, and timely deliverables

Verify field conditions and assist the Senior Engineers in resolving problems during field construction

May be required to participate in short-- or long-term field assignments

Site development project experience (stormwater, grading, utilities, roads, etc.)

Experienced with Civil 3D or MicroStation CADD software

Experience with hydrology and hydraulic software is a plus

Familiarity with the IDOT standards and specifications. Familiarity with the general layout of a set of IDOT road plans is preferred

General familiarity with the Illinois Urban Manual and erosion and sediment control practices. Familiarity with the NPDES permit process, including generating a SWPPP, is preferred

General understanding of the permitting process, including Federal, State, and Local

General knowledge of and use of municipal ordinances is a plus

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering

4+ years of experience working as a Civil Engineer

Must hold Professional registrations (PE) or be able to obtain registration within one year of hire

General knowledge of Civil Engineering

Strong Microsoft Office software skills

Strong AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation CADD experience

Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
