Versar is seeking a full-time Fuel Foreman with Liquid Fuels Mechanic maintenance repair experience in the Marshall Islands (Kwajalein) to support the US Army at various sites. The Fuel Foreman will perform site maintenance related to fuel systems, such as identifying and troubleshooting fuel systems discrepancies, minor construction activities, preventative and corrective maintenance, and repair projects. Perform all phases of work; working with support staff; ensure compliance with all applicable construction codes, standards and local regulations; ensuring on-site quality control and on-site safety requirements are met; responsible for all onsite and contractor-controlled documentation. Oversees workers and monitors and maintains the amount of fuel in the tanks of a fuel farm. Performs usage calculations and requests service time and amount for tank filling. Prepares and checks receiving or shipping documents.
Visually inspects samples of fuel and checks gravity and flashpoint. Gauges tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on terminal systems. Responsible for leading the work of employees. High school diploma and requires 3 years of related experience.
- Perform routine maintenance inspections at various locations in the Marshall Islands, through anticipation and planning of recurring maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Class I, II and III hydrant systems including other supporting equipment and appurtenances.
- Maintain fuel storage tanks, including inspection reports of the operations for unusual circumstances to include pressure changes, leaks, corrosion, etc.
- Support development of scopes of work for repair and modification Service Orders for Fuel facilities. Repairs will be developed in accordance with UFC 3-460-01 “Design: Petroleum Facilities,” American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 650 “Advanced Tank & Construction,” and applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
- Diagnose and correct problems using test equipment, statistical, equipment history, manufactures specifications, and industry-related standards to avoid fuel spills or fuel facility related events.
- Review repair specifications of equipment or components being purchased or fabricated for repair and construction projects, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and material specifications. Procure material required by repair or maintenance work.
- Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system.
- Receive, Store, Issue, and Transfer Aviation Jet Fuel and ground fuel safely and efficiently, while carefully monitoring and recording all pertinent information.
- Perform daily system inspections and required operator maintenance functions in accordance with ATA Spec. 103, ATP 4- 43, and local operating procedures.
- Review the daily pipeline receipt schedule and plan for sufficient tank ullage on next-day allotments.
- Complete and maintain appropriate documentation on operational matters in accordance with established procedures.
- Complete all assignments directed by Fuel Management in a safe, efficient, and timely manner as required by Company rules and regulations and all Federal, State, and local laws.
- Continually inspect operations at the fuel tank farm areas for unusual circumstances, such as low/high pressure, leaks, unauthorized personnel, etc. This category, as stated, is not exclusive.
- Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, notwithstanding work in different functional areas to cover absences and relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.

Requirements
~2 min read- Three to five years of experience in liquid fuels maintenance or construction on various types of fuel systems that can include marine loading arms, bulk fuel facilities, hot pit fueling systems, gas station dispensing systems, cathodic protection systems, and leak detection systems.
- 21+ years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with petroleum sampling equipment, aviation and ground fuel sampling procedures, and fuel testing.
- Proficient in regulations regarding fuel handling equipment and systems.
- Working knowledge of automated fuel gauging systems, high/low level alarms, & cathodic protection systems.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, loss/gain, inventory etc.
- Proficiency of the English language both written and verbal.
- Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen

- Experience with equipment operation and power tools.
- Possess working mechanical and electrical equipment knowledge.
- Ability to communicate verbally with internal and external clients. Able to exercise good judgment and conflict resolution strategies with client issues.
- Can work independently and is self-motivated; works well towards timelines and goals.
- Has the ability to apply minor mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, as they apply to practical situations; can conduct problem-solving.
