Position Summary

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily logistics activities supporting the Pelzer manufacturing campus. This position will provide hands-on leadership for inbound and outbound transportation, shipment execution, carrier coordination, documentation, and overall logistics performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Warehouse, Materials, Planning, Production, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure material and finished goods move safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role requires a strong operational leader who can work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, manage changing priorities, and drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily inbound and outbound logistics activities across the Pelzer operation.
  • Manage transportation planning, carrier scheduling, truck coordination, and shipment execution.
  • Ensure shipments are planned and executed in alignment with production and customer requirements.
  • Partner closely with Warehouse, Planning, Materials, and Production teams to maintain alignment on daily and weekly shipping priorities.
  • Ensure all required shipping documentation, system transactions, BOLs, and supporting records are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor carrier performance, transportation issues, missed pickups, late deliveries, and other logistics-related risks.
  • Support urgent and expedited transportation requirements while driving improved planning to reduce unnecessary premium freight.
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to the logistics team.
  • Establish and maintain standard work, processes, and controls for logistics execution.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and identify opportunities to improve service, cost, efficiency, and execution.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end shipment requirements while ensuring established operational and system controls are maintained.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve transportation, shipment, and delivery issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, transportation, and operational requirements.
  • Support continued growth and expansion of the Pelzer campus and logistics network.
  • Drive a culture of teamwork, ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Previous logistics, transportation, warehouse, supply chain, or manufacturing experience required.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inbound and outbound transportation operations.
  • Experience coordinating carriers, freight movements, and high-volume shipping operations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with the ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/WMS/TMS systems preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position will be measured by safe and on-time shipment execution, strong transportation and carrier performance, accurate system and shipping documentation, improved logistics planning, reduced expedite risk, and effective coordination between Logistics, Warehouse, Planning, Materials, and Production.

The Logistics Supervisor will play a key leadership role in building a disciplined and scalable logistics operation capable of supporting the continued growth of the Pelzer campus.

  • Ensure that all team members meet the required standards of performance 
  • Ensure appropriate development, training and coaching for the team.
  • Ensure that an effective escalation process is in place to deal with critical issues.
  • Support talent management process (selection, development, and career path).
  • Identify knowledge & skill gaps within your team and work to Teach, Track and Develop skills so their strengths are fully utilized.
  • Ensure team spirit, good team-working environment, conflict negotiation, individual and group communication.
  • Ensure awareness of Company rules and procedures and liaise / promote awareness amongst team members.
  • Manage absence within your team ensuring a consistent approach, utilizing the RTW process 
  • Participate in disciplinary hearings as required ensuring fairness and integrity.
  • Provide peer input at annual performance review or other such competency review process.
  • Verify team members essential experience/qualification criteria for their roles.
  • Provide input for 3- & 6-month probationary review to be verified and signed off by Manager. 
  • Manage all holiday entitlements for team personnel.
