Responsibilities

  • Perform and review the calculation and closing of indirect taxes (e.g., VAT, ICMS, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS, PIS, COFINS), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit statutory tax returns and ancillary obligations within required deadlines.
  • Execute and review accounting reconciliations of tax accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post tax-related journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Issue and monitor tax payment slips, ensuring timely settlement of tax liabilities.
  • Support and respond to tax audits and inspections, providing documentation and technical explanations.
  • Review tax procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with current legislation and company policies.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities, proposing corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Validate and maintain tax parameterization in ERP systems, ensuring correct tax treatment of transactions.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Provide technical tax guidance to finance, accounting, and operational teams.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and special projects led by the tax leadership.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to junior tax team members, when applicable.
  • Knowledge in ICMS-CE will be considered a plus

  • Solid knowledge of Brazilian indirect taxes; experience with ICMS legislation in Ceará (ICMS/CE) will be considered a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and tax compliance tools (e.g., Mastersaf).
  • Knowledge of the Brazilian Tax Reform framework is desirable.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with different departments.
  • Interest in digital transformation, including the use of new technologies and AI to improve tax processes and efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economy, Law or related areas
