Minimum Qualifications

Terminal degree in basic, translational, or clinical sciences
Extensive cancer relevant research experience
Nationally-recognized scholarly/research portfolio with a strong track-record of continuous NCI funding
Extensive publication experience
Proven trainee and faculty mentorship skills
Track record working in multi-disciplinary fields
Experience in, and coordination of, collaborative grants and managing trans-disciplinary research
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a matrix environment within academic medicine
Proven success in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
Established track-record of leading inter- and multi-disciplinary teams as principal investigator of multi-investigator projects such as P01s and SPOREs
