• →Maintains the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, parking lots and grounds in good condition
• →Performs or assists in execution of minor repairs that might include the following: Carpentry, Plumbing, Interior painting, Refurbishing and cleaning, Landscape and irrigation systems. Handles basic maintenance and repair tasks independently, may be part of a team on more complex tasks.
• →Follows daily maintenance checklist provided by supervisor; Assures tools and supplies are stocked and appropriately secured in maintenance store rooms; maintains cleanliness and order of store rooms
• →Checks buildings for any safety concerns; understands and carries out VOALA, federal and other governmental regulations
• →Other duties as assigned

Ability to work and deal with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs, which may include clients with homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration, and other challenges.

• Services for this position must be provided on-site. As a result, the position requires incumbents to report to work on-site each day of active employment.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, parking lots and grounds in good condition
• Performs or assists in execution of minor repairs as assigned
• Keeps tools and stock in good order
• Conducts regular inspections of assigned buildings and grounds
• Drives company vehicle as required for pick up and delivery of supplies
• Other duties as required and may be subject to change

As service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community, all employees are considered Mandated Reporters, and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
• Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.

• Formal training in a Construction Trade specialty (plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current California driver's license and clean driving record

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or construction
