• →Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks to maximize safe and productive operations.
• →Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and repair orders.
• →Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, body components, and related vehicle systems.
• →Utilize vehicle computer diagnostic systems and electronic equipment to identify failure modes and perform accurate repairs.
• →Perform repairs in accordance with Factory Service Manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• →Conduct vehicle and equipment safety inspections to ensure safe operation.
• →Communicate with managers and drivers regarding vehicle conditions, repair status, and preventive maintenance recommendations to reduce future repairs.
• →Complete repair orders and all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with Waste Pro and OSHA standards.
• →Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• →Demonstrate a high standard of ethics, professionalism, dependability, and accountability.

* Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.

• Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment with the ability to interpret manufacturer service manuals and perform accurate repairs.
• The ability to complete repairs within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and accurately estimate labor time and materials required.
• The ability to provide assistance, guidance, and technical support to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
• A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and dependable attendance.
• CDL Class B license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Normal setting for this job is: Inside and Outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.

This position is performed both indoors and outdoors and requires working in a busy maintenance shop with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, vehicle traffic, noise, dirt, grease, chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Occasional road calls and work in extreme weather may be required.
