Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform meshing from CAD geometry using ANSA and create high-quality finite element meshes suitable for crash analysis.
- →Build complete CAE models from CAD data while maintaining appropriate element quality, mesh density, and geometric representation.
- →Create, add, modify, and replace parts within existing subsystems based on simulation and design requirements.
- →Ensure proper connectivity between parts, including appropriate interfaces, contacts, connections, and related model definitions.
- →Integrate and connect two or more subsystems to create a complete LS-DYNA crash simulation deck.
- →Perform model checks to identify and resolve issues related to mesh quality, free edges, penetrations, connectivity, duplicate elements, and disconnected components.
- →Support model preparation and updates based on engineering changes, design iterations, and simulation requirements.
- →Work with CAD geometry and engineering data to understand component interfaces and translate design intent into CAE models.
- →Prepare, modify, and maintain LS-DYNA decks as required for crash simulation activities.
- →Coordinate with CAE analysts and other engineering teams to resolve model-building and integration issues.
- →Follow established modeling standards, quality procedures, naming conventions, and project-specific guidelines.
- →Ensure timely delivery of high-quality crash models while maintaining accuracy and consistency across different vehicle or subsystem programs.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in CAE model building, preferably in automotive crash simulation.
- Strong hands-on experience in model build for Crash applications.
- Proficiency in ANSA preprocessor.
- Strong understanding of meshing and finite element model build.
- Experience creating and modifying simulation-ready models from CAD geometry.
- Good understanding of part connectivity and subsystem integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot model quality and connectivity issues independently.
- Familiarity with crash simulation modeling practices and engineering standards.
- Practical exposure to CAD geometry and interpretation of engineering drawings/models.
- Experience working with LS-DYNA decks.
- Knowledge of LS-DYNA keywords, contacts, connections, and basic model setup.
- Experience creating, adding, replacing, or modifying components within existing CAE models.
- Exposure to automotive body, BIW, interior, or vehicle crash simulation projects.
- Understanding of different mesh types, element quality criteria, and model validation techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional CAE and engineering teams.
