- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, DevOps engineers, and technical professionals, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of the technical direction, architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance of critical applications and platforms.
- Act as a hands-on Technical Lead, providing guidance on system design, coding standards, architecture, scalability, performance, and security.
- Manage engineering projects from planning and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Define and implement effective DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, release management, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Drive engineering best practices around code reviews, automated testing, version control, documentation, observability, and incident management.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges and proactively develop solutions.
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and career development of engineering team members.
- Establish engineering standards and processes that improve productivity, reliability, quality, and delivery velocity.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools and recommend solutions that can improve system architecture, development workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in production troubleshooting and lead root-cause analysis for critical technical issues.
Must-Have Skills
- Engineering Manager experience with strong people and technical leadership capabilities.
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead managing complex software engineering initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, deployment, and infrastructure management.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and scalable application design.
- Hands-on experience with tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, or equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with team leadership and project ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, logging, and cloud security practices.
- Experience managing cross-functional technical projects and distributed engineering teams.
