The Director of Operations (DAO) oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned market, ensuring the efficient and effective management of all aspects of the business across multiple restaurant locations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing restaurant leadership, improving financial performance, and ensuring compliance with Company standards. The Director of Operations partners closely with Restaurant General Managers and support teams to execute strategic initiatives, optimize business results, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

This position requires partial travel throughout the assigned market to support restaurant operations, coach and develop leaders, conduct operational visits, perform business reviews, and ensure consistent execution of Company standards across all assigned locations.

1. → Strategic Planning and Execution

• →Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business goals.
• →Monitor industry trends and adjust operational strategies accordingly.
• →Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term plans for growth and sustainability.
• →Execute company initiatives and ensure alignment across all assigned restaurants.

1. → Operational Management

• →Oversee the daily operations of multiple restaurant locations.
• →Ensure compliance with Company policies, food safety standards, and all health and safety regulations.
• →Optimize operational processes to increase efficiency, improve guest satisfaction, and reduce costs.
• →Implement, monitor, and reinforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• →Conduct regular restaurant visits to evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

1. → Financial Management

• →Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets for assigned restaurants.
• →Analyze financial statements, labor reports, food cost reports, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• →Implement cost-control initiatives to improve profitability.
• →Monitor inventory management, ordering, and supply chain execution.
• →Ensure accountability for cash handling, inventory controls, and loss prevention procedures.

1. → Staff Management and Development

• →Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor Restaurant General Managers and leadership teams.
• →Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive coaching and feedback.
• →Develop succession plans and leadership development opportunities.
• →Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
• →Promote employee engagement, accountability, and operational excellence.

1. → Customer Service and Quality Control

• →Ensure exceptional customer service and consistent food quality across all locations.
• →Address guest concerns and resolve escalated issues promptly and professionally.
• →Monitor customer feedback and implement action plans to improve guest satisfaction.
• →Ensure restaurants consistently meet Wendy's brand standards.

1. → Marketing and Sales

• →Partner with the Marketing Team to implement promotional campaigns and local marketing initiatives.
• →Monitor sales trends and develop strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
• →Analyze market conditions and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.

1. → Technology and Innovation

• →Evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve restaurant operations.
• →Leverage restaurant management systems and reporting tools to drive business decisions.
• →Stay informed of industry trends and best practices and implement operational improvements.

1. → Compliance and Reporting

• →Ensure compliance with all Company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• →Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership.
• →Maintain accurate business records and documentation.
• →Ensure restaurants are audit-ready and maintain compliance with food safety, labor, and operational standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• Master's degree is a plus.

• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive restaurant operations experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a multi-unit leadership role overseeing multiple restaurant locations.

• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and business planning skills.
• Strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of restaurant management systems, labor management, and operational technology.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and drive operational excellence.

• Partial travel is required throughout the assigned market, including regular visits to restaurant locations for operational oversight, coaching, training, business reviews, audits, and leadership development.
• Frequent travel between restaurant locations is expected, with occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and have reliable transportation.
• This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism and sound business judgment.
