This is an onsite role at our St. Joseph Tech Center in Michigan. The Color Development Engineer (Associate, Engineering) is responsible for the coordination and implementation of new color projects supporting both new and existing products across Make and OEM. The Color Development Engineer coordinates technical activities, leads / tracks developments, and provides technical support to stakeholders. ## Your responsibilities will include The Color Development Engineer: * Is responsible to deliver new colors across the KASA (KitchenAid Small Appliances) portfolio * Lead development of new powder paint colors for Greenville Make products partnering with Manufacturing, Design and Suppliers * Develop and execute new color test plans coordinating with internal and external lab partners * Deliver PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and GPA (Global Product Approval) for new powder paints * Identify and drive quality and cost improvement projects in partnership with Greenville Paint team * Ensure alignment to the Color Strategy while balancing part number complexity at Greenville * Coordinate and support development of new powder paint and in-mold plastic colors for OEM products * Develop subject matter expertise and serve as the technical lead for color approval processes (C0 initiation to C2 approval) ## Minimum requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology * 3+ months of Engineering experience (experience may include Internships, co-ops, or lab application) ## Preferred skills and experiences * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science * Problem-solving approach with OPEX (Operational Excellence) or Six Sigma certification * Hands-on experience in the design and development of consumer products * Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts at a high level and in depth * Actively involved in campus or community activities and organizations, preferably in leadership roles ## What we offer Generous benefits package, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more!
