The Role
We are seeking a self-sufficient Project Manager I to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This is a new position designed for a proactive, adaptable professional ready to lead projects, communicate effectively across teams (both on-site and remote), and contribute to business development efforts.
Lead projects from design through closeout, applying best practices to deliver quality, on-time, and within budget.
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, design teams, superintendents, and internal staff.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and financial reporting, ensuring timely updates and transparency.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project teams and clients, communicating clearly and strategically.
Identify and resolve design, construction, and scheduling issues as they arise.
Engage in business development by supporting proposals, presentations, and client relationship building.
Travel frequently to projects throughout Southeast Michigan; occasional trips to Grand Rapids for training and collaboration.
Embrace standard operating procedures quickly and make an immediate impact on your project teams.
Experience managing varied commercial construction projects (multi-unit, retail, healthcare, etc.).
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative on project opportunities.
Excellent communicator, especially with remote teams, knowing what information to share and when.
Adaptable, capable of managing current projects while pricing and planning future projects concurrently.
Confident and professional demeanor with internal and external stakeholders.
Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Southeast Michigan.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of commercial construction project management experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other project management tools.
Strong understanding of construction principles, project management, and financial acumen.
