Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a GeoBase Program Training Support Junior Analyst to work at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in San Antonio, Texas. This is an on-site role with a schedule of 4 days working at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland AFB and 1 day working remotely.

The analyst will support the GeoBase Program Training Coordinator and be a part of a dynamic fast-paced team supporting the United States Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase Program, which manages Air Force Civil Engineering GIS data and capabilities in an enterprise environment. The Training Support Analyst will assist with the planning, development, delivery, and maintenance of all GeoBase training and education services. Training spans a range of formats to include instructor-led, virtual, and hybrid. The Support Analyst will have an integral role in the development of self-paced DAF GeoBase Program analyst and end user instruction modules. Developed training will support both initial qualification as well as sustainment training for GeoBase personnel and associated stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

As a GeoBase Program Training Support Junior Analyst at Woolpert, you will:

  • Develop training materials using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) to convert user and standard operating procedure (SOP) guides, software release notes, meeting recordings, and other documentation into instructor slides, scripts for education and training videos, and other digital educational and training products
  • Offload work from our developer teams by utilizing AI to optimize existing education and training products and to develop new DAF GeoBase training content
  • Assist with the maintenance of the structured curriculum and training materials in the DAF GeoBase Program Training Plan
  • Training materials will include:
    • Instructor guides and lesson plans
    • Student guides and reference materials
    • Presentations
    • Practical exercises and scenario-based exercises using relevant installation datasets
    • Knowledge checks and performance assessments
    • Job aids and standard operating procedure (SOP) references
  • Assist the Training Coordinator to utilize AI in developing curricula that:
    • Provides hands-on instruction using realistic scenarios and data where feasible
    • Utilizes qualified instructors with demonstrated DAF GeoBase Program and geospatial expertise
    • Incorporates Government-provided feedback and lessons learned
  • Support the training team with client-approved delivery methods (e.g., in-person, virtual instructor-led, on-demand)
    • Training may be conducted at CONUS or OCONUS locations or via secure Government virtual environments
    • Class size, duration, and delivery frequency shall be defined in the approved Training Plan
  • Training Support Analyst will also:
    • Ensure training schedules are coordinated with Government points of contact
    • Review and update training materials as DAF GeoBase Program policies, tools, or workflows change
    • Maintain version control of all training plans and products
    • Create or update the DAF GeoBase Program Knowledge Base, documenting current training workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and end user self-help

What You Will Bring:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active Tier 1 Investigation (NACI - National Agency Check and Inquiries), security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation
    • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • One (1) year of relevant training development and/or implementation experience
  • Two (2) years of geospatial experience:
    • Substantial knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities:
      • Two (2) years of experience using ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) or ArcGIS Pro
      • Two (2) years of experience using Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
  • One (1) year of artificial intelligence/machine learning experience, including generative models or agent functions with any of the leading platforms (ChapGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.)
    • Specific experience using AI to create and optimize development of education and training products 
  • One (1) year of experience in a role requiring:
    • Excellent problem-solving and consulting skills with emphasis on client and team member engagement
    • Proven experience providing excellent customer service
    • Strong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for our dynamic working environment
    • Attention to detail and proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standards
    • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and as a member of a large organization
    • Ability to offer constructive feedback and problem solving, as well as clear direction to support goals
  • The following experience is favored: 
    • Experience with the DAF GeoBase Program
    • Experience with GenAI.mil or any other Department of War (DoW)-approved AI platforms
    • Military geospatial or civil engineering experience, especially as a USAF 3E5, Army 12Y, 12T, 35G, or 21S, USMC 1361, Navy Seabee Engineering Aide, CEC, or FST, or other related background
    • Experience with military training or training in a military environment
    • Experience with Agile methodologies, preferably using Atlassian software (Jira, Confluence)
      • Experience with Service Desk or other customer request ticketing systems
    • Experience with processing and using geospatial imagery and lidar data
    • Experience with Autodesk or other CAD software
    • Experience with GPS, surveying, or field data collection
    • Experience with DoD geospatial data and enterprise systems

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range
$65,800$82,300 USD
