WorldStrides is the largest educational travel organization in the United States. It started in 1964, when a social studies teacher named Phil Wendel took his class to Washington, D.C. and saw what one trip did for his students. Today we run travel and experiential learning programs for more than 530,000 students a year, K-12 groups, university study abroad, performing arts ensembles, sports teams, language immersion, and career exploration, with a global team of 1,500+ people.
Behind every one of those programs is a system. Enrollment, payments, itineraries, traveler and safety data, school and university partnerships, and dozens of third-party platforms all have to exchange information correctly, on time, and securely. When a group of forty students boards a flight to another country, everything that got them there moved through an integration. That is the work this team owns.
About the role
We are growing our technology team in Mérida, and Integration Engineering is central to it. This is not a support desk or a ticket queue: you will design and build the integration layer that connects WorldStrides' enterprise systems, working directly with architects, product owners, and engineering teams in the U.S. from design through production support.
Concretely, you'll be working on Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub, APIM, building REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven and message-based flows, secure authentication patterns, and Python-based automation, all shipped through Azure DevOps CI/CD. You will have real ownership of what you build, and your decisions on API design, resiliency, and observability will affect systems used by schools, families, and travelers around the world.
