Senior Specialist Geomatics Technologist

The Principal Geomatics Technologist will provide technical leadership in GIS, remote sensing, spatial data management, and geospatial analysis for water resources and irrigation projects. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining project GIS databases, mapping irrigation infrastructure, analyzing irrigated areas, and supporting project planning, monitoring, and decision-making through advanced geospatial technologies.

• →Lead the development and maintenance of project GIS databases and geospatial information systems.
• →Conduct mapping and inventory of irrigation canals, hydraulic structures, and related infrastructure.
• →Analyze satellite imagery and remote sensing data to assess irrigated areas, land use, and project impacts.
• →Perform spatial analysis to support project planning, design, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
• →Produce GIS maps, dashboards, spatial datasets, and technical reports.
• →Integrate field survey data, GPS information, and remote sensing products into GIS platforms.
• →Support the assessment of irrigation system performance and water management through geospatial analysis.
• →Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with project GIS standards.
• →Collaborate with technical specialists, engineers, agronomists, and project teams.
• →Provide technical guidance and capacity building on GIS and remote sensing applications.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Surveying, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial data analysis.
• Experience in developing and managing GIS databases and geospatial information systems.
• Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing software (ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS, ENVI, or similar).
• Experience with satellite imagery analysis, GPS data processing, and spatial modeling.
• Experience in water resources, irrigation, agricultural, environmental, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Good command of English; knowledge of Russian and local languages is an advantage.
